MISSION
We have a bold mission.
It will challenge us.
It will test us.
Nothing less is worthy of IDEAL-WAY.ca
Nothing else will reward us more.
These are the solid cornerstones on which the future of IDEAL-WAY.ca will be built.
These are the standards by which all of us will be judged:
To build bridges joining those with an intellectual disability and others, as a pathway to inclusion.
To improve the lives of such persons by creating, and enhancing, opportunities for mainstream community interaction.
To educate, and positively improve mainstream social attitudes in order to make all persons with intellectual disability feel I.D.E.A.L….
Included, Deserving,
Equal,
Appreciated and Loved.
VISION
A world where persons with intellectual disability are valued, included, and appreciated for whom they are. To pass along to future generations a torch of unselfish legacy which is not blind, nor deaf, nor ignorant to the needs of others.
PHILOSOPHY
We believe in our abilities.
We believe in our vision.
We believe in our faith.
We believe in our work for our Founding Director, Robert Pio Hajjar and for all of his intellectually disabled peers.
We have a firm belief that Intellectually
Disabled
Enrich Abled
Lives. (I.D.E.A.L.)
We embrace an openness to work with other organizations towards our common goal that persons with an intellectual disability deserve a rightful place in our mainstream communities; deserve full opportunity to learn and develop social skills…to be our partners, in a better society.
Persons with intellectual disability enjoy a special gift to emotionally connect with others on a deep level. May God let us, all, recognize and benefit from their God-given gifts. Persons with intellectual disability are “blessed with a soul that is too large for their bodies.” (aboriginal belief)
IDEAL-WAY.ca believes everyone should see and appreciate what they can do, rather than what they can not do.
There is no better time than right now to be on this journey. We will lead for the betterment of others and not for the enrichment of ourselves. We intend to improve the life of our communities by providing quality public education to sensitize and familiarize those that may not already be aware of the unique and valuable attributes of these special individuals.
The common theme that runs through all of the uncommon efforts of our IDEAL-WAY family is our unfailing commitment to maintain the dignity and rights of our special community. In meeting this challenge, we will constantly break new ground and foster new ideas to make our presence felt as dedicated supporters of these unique and caring persons. Our dedication extends to a true concern for the well-being of all of the communities in which we operate. This is the ideal way.
We have purpose, as does each of these individuals. May they no longer be ‘the forgotten ones’.
Although often unable to speak, their needs cry out to be heard.
